UK Identity fraud is up by nearly 50 per cent. Over 3,700 individuals sought help from Experian’s Victims of Fraud team, between January and June this year, a 46 per cent increase compared to the 2,570 cases reported during the same period last year.

More than one-half (57%) of the 2007 US sample reported their personal information had been used to open a new line of credit in their name. 13% of all respondents noted their information was used for obtaining new cable and/or utility services.
