Online privacy and the protection of information resources for security personnel and others can be accessed through the new blog launched by the Identity Theft Assistance Center. ITAC, the Identity Theft Assistance Center has announced the launch of its official blog, the ITAC Blog, which will serve as a news and information resource on fraud and identity theft and online forum for privacy and security experts, policymakers, academics and law enforcement. ITAC’s new social media strategy includes the launch of a Facebook Fan Page, Linked-In Group, and Twitter handle. The blog will post news about fraud and identity theft and feature podcasts and other feature stories from ITAC members, who are financial services security professionals, as well as professionals from other disciplines. This service will definitely raise awareness for businesses but we are not sure this will work with consumers. Consumers will not do anything about identity fraud unless it happens to them. Unfortunately it is still a reactive crime but we at ID Theft Protect aim to change that thinking.
